DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #232-Happy Celebrations

What a colorful combo we have this week for our DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge. I finally got to ink up a new set that was in the Occasions catalog and will be carried over to the new on June 1. I am always in need of birthday cards so that is what I went with.

You emboss first with the coordinating embossing folder and then stamp with the inks. They emboss quite deep. I noticed I did use a little too much pressure on my stamps and the ink got inside the grooves of the debossed area. Oh well. I'm still happy with it.

Oh So Succulent

Hi Stampers,

Well as much as I tried to convince myself I did not need the Oh So Succulent Bundle, somehow it ended up at my house **wink**. I'm sad that Stampin' Up! is retiring this set. I thought this set would be so popular. Succulents are so popular right now and EVERYWHERE!!! I always seem to jump on the bandwagon when I see that "I might not be able to order that" and go into an instant panic. Before you know it, it's at my house.

I am so glad I ordered this bundle. There are SO MANY beautiful cards on Pinterest made with this bundle. I will definitely be playing with this set a lot.

My card is based on the layout of a card I received from my upline, Dawn Olchefske. I just changed the sentiment and stamp set.

Easter Peeps with Cool Treats

I got some play time this past weekend and got to unleash my creativity. I just received the Cool Treats Suite in my order. I have seen so many cool cards with this set and couldn't wait to make some of my own. However, my mind is on Easter and this is what I came up with----Peeps from the "ice cream"!!!

You just stamp, cut out with the framelit and then cut again with the framelit moved up a little.

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #220-Celebrate!!!

Hi Stampers,

Back with another DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #220. We are now into the month of March (how did that happen?) and the last month of Sale-A-bration!!! Remember you get to pick an item from the Saleabration choices when your order placed is more than $50 or more (before shipping/handling).

If the colors look familiar for this week's challenge, they are the colors that are highlighted in the gorgeous Falling In Love DSP. I have a couple of weddings this summer and what an appropriate name of a suite to use for them -- Falling In Love!!! I now have one card out of the way, way ahead of schedule!!! LOL I don't know about you but I just love shabby chic. For some people this design comes so easy but for others (like me) I REALLY have to try. The pics really don't do justice in my opinion. It really turned out quite soft and just plain pretty. I just got the Celebrations Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and love how they deboss. I also used some of my Blushing Bride sequin trim and the new delicate lace doilies. I also sponged Soft Sky with a sponge over the debossing to highlight it a little more.

Have you ever CASE'D? someone? CASE stands for copy and share everything/copy and steal everything.....I've heard many different variations.. It really makes cardmaking or scrapbooking easier. For instance, my upline, Dawn Olchefske, posted this adorable card on her blog-

I chose to use the hexagon "shape" and used a different sentiment to make this card "my own". Easy, peasy, right?

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #219-Moon Baby

Hi Stampers,

At DOStamper Stars we are having a sketch pad challenge this week. I decided to break out my new stamp set Moon Baby. It seems I struggle with baby cards. I need to sit down and just create a pile of them and add them to my stash. I also used my new watercolor pencils with the blender pen. These pencils are GREAT!!!  They color so smoothly!!! They also are in Stampin' Up! colors. I hope they add more colors with the new catalog coming out in June.

Recipe:

Stamp Set: Moon Baby

Ink: Basic Black, Blush Blossom (retired) for face

Paper: Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron, Whisper White

Accessories: White delicate doilies, Stitched Framelits, Small Star punch (retired), paper trimmer, dimensionals, rhinestones, SNAIL, Blender Pen, Watercolor Pencils

 

 

 

Hexagon Dimensionals Folder Beehive Gift Box

Hi Stampers,

The dimension this embossing folder gives is out of the park. It looks 3D in real life!!! Remember because it is so THICK only use one cutting pad!!! It also works great with the Window Box Thinlits. What a cute little box to give to someone sweet!!! I did sponge Crushed Curry Ink on the box after embossing to highlight the hexagons. I used the You're So Sweet for the sentiment. How appropriate for this project, huh?

The little bees are from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit dies. A clever trick my upline, Dawn Olchefske, shared is punch a 1/2" circle and adhere to the back along with 1/4 of one.

I have a couple more ideas up my sleeve that need to come to fruition. Hopefully, this week!!! So, stay tuned!!!

Love Note Framelits Interactive Card

Hi Stampers,

Nothing like making my hubby's card last minute!!! GEESSHH!!! If you pull the "Love Note" up you can write a heartfelt message to the recipient on it. I am very pleased at how this turned out!!

Instructions:

*Assemble top DSP to Real Red Cardstock with SNAIL.

*Die cut one envelope with the Love Notes Framelits. Adhere to the front with SNAIL without folding into envelope.

*With a craft knife you will cut from one scored line to the other horizontally of the envelope, through ALL thicknesses. This is where the "Love Note" will go in.

*Stamp "Love Note" on Whisper White and die cut only the top with the Love Note Framelits. My piece is 3-1/2" long.

*Place "Love Note" in the envelope. Turn over to see where to place the adhesive strips and dimensionals.

*Turn over and place glue dots to adhere the envelope closed.

*Stamp sentiment on bottom of card and inside.

Sealed With A Kiss Lipstick Pens

Hi Stampers,

I saw this cute idea on Erica Cerwin's blog and guess what? I happened to have some of these pens in my stash!!!! Imagine that!! LOL I know you can order them from Amazon too.

Aren't these just the cutest? They are made with the Sealed with Love stamp and framelit set.

Here it is outside of the package:

Here are the measurements:

Real Red CS cut at 4-1/2 x 6-1/2.

On the 4-1/2 " side score at 1/2, 1-1/4, 3-1/4, and 4.

On the 6-1/2 " side score at 1-1/2 and 2-1/4.

Whisper White is cut at 2 x 4. Place framelit towards the right side and die cut.

DSP is cut at 3-1/4 x 1-1/4.

Stamp sentiment and lip. Cut out with framelit. I used a retired scalloped heart framelit.

After cutting away it should look like this:

Fold on the dotted lines and adhere sides to the back of the box. Decorate with DSP and heart on dimensionals.

Place lipstick pen in 2 x 8 baggie from Stampin' Up!
