This is the card I made for our son for his birthday. Coming up with masculine cards is always such a brain teaser. This one is great for birthdays, Father's Day, teacher...... I got the idea from fellow demonstrator Julie Davison.

With the holiday this past weekend, it sure makes the week fly by!!! It's almost Thursday so for the DOStamper Stars, we have a showCASE challenge. I loosely used the layout for my card. There is also a sneak peek on my card with the new Shaded Spruce Velvet Ribbon. It is SO SOFT!!!

I just LOVE making these eclipse cards!!! It gives such a WOW factor!!! I borrowed the "Make A Wish" from the stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous. I masked the "Wish" before I stamped. This type of card also puts to use my Large Letter Framelits.

This week's featured stamp set is Dandelion Wishes from page 118 in the Annual Catalog. This "floral" image is great for weddings, birthdays, love.....etcetera. I say "floral" because most people see a weed when they see dandelions. I think you can view it as flowers or wishes. What do you see?
I almost forgot about my Decorative Ribbon Border punch that is in my arsenal so I decided to pair that with today's card.
I'm also trying new color combos and trying to use colors that I don't normally reach for. I think it turned out very feminine and pretty. I used the sentiment from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.
Didn't this turn out fabulous? The decorative edge and white heat embossing turned manly colors into a feminine card.

Welcome back this week to a DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge. We are having my favorite---a Sketch Pad Challenge. This was such an easy sketch. I started out by trying a monochromatic card in Pineapple Punch. WHOA!! Can you say bright? LOL Bring out the sunglasses!!! So then I paired it with the finished color-Blueberry Bushel. Much, much better. I just love the sheen of the pearlized doilies too.
Since I needed some birthday cards I used the sentiment and asterisk stars for the inside from the Picture Perfect Stamp Set.
I love the yellow and blue together---and being from Michigan-U of M colors!!!

This week I am focusing on the Abstract Impressions stamp set with the matching Springtime Impressions framelits. Who doesn't love flowers and butterflies? I wanted to make a Monarch colored butterfly to start with so I die cut the black with the cut out details. I then just traced around the framelit onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock and fussy cut out. I adhered these 2 pieces together. Just cut die cut in half and adhere to each side of the card. I also cut an extra body out and used glue dots to adhere to the right side of the card. I also cut a circle from the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch for the head and adhered with a glue dot. The polka dot DSP is actually Grapefruit Grove, one of the new in colors. I tied a bow with the gorgeous Black Satin Ribbon. It is so silky and sparkly!!! Because I wanted a birthday card, I used the sentiment from Picture Perfect Birthday.

This week I want to showcase the Painted Glass bundle. I got carried away with last week's bundle of Animal Outing but hopefully I can get back on track. I haven't stamped regularly in a couple of months so this feels so good!!! It is so relaxing!! Do others feel the same?
When I saw this set at OnStage, this was the first bundle that went on my shopping list. I think it is so delicate, intricate and just beautiful. The font used on the sentiments is Old Century Gothic. I was itching to use some more new colors-Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. This card turned out better than I had imagined. After heat embossing with white embossing powder, I used a sponge dauber in Gorgeous Grape for the center and placed a little basic jewel in the center. I also used the new ribbon Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. Love it!!!
This bundle makes beautiful cards!!! If you like to color, this has beautiful 6 x 6 designer vellum which are gorgeous when colored with the new Blends!!!

Back with one more card from the Animal Outing bundle. I have really enjoyed playing with this set. It is a must have in my book!!! I used the sentiment from Thoughtful Banners and the leaves are from the Painted Harvest set. I also used the new embossing folder Climbing Vine. It went with this card so well.

TGIF!!! At least I think so!!! I get every weekend off from work and this weekend we don't have any plans!!! I get to play this weekend and I am SOOOOO looking forward to it. Today's card is a little twist on the Animal Outing set. Instead of an animal stamp or die cut, I used the thinlit die from the set and die cut several of these out of the neutral browns and painstakingly placed inside the die cut to resemble a pebble stone walkway. I used the alphabet stamp set from the Pick A Pennant stamp set. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment inside from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set (not pictured). I think this makes a great masculine card.
I hope this gives you some inspiration to come up with your own ideas/twists. This bundle is a MUST have in my opinion. Make sure you place it in your shopping bag today!!!

My nephew Christopher's birthday is today. He and his wife, Heather, have 3 of the prettiest little girls and are currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I think he is the biggest Notre Dame fan there is so I had to find a way to get this on a card. Well, I found these beverage napkins on Amazon and I made a napkin card. I still had the Sizzix adhesive sheets, heat and stick powder and the Irisidecent Powder in my stash. Imagine that?!!! My card is a 5 x 5 so I could make more out of the napkin. I used our Gold Foil cardstock as a layer to give more stability to the card. I also had retired In Color Envelope Paper in my stash to make a Cucumber Crush envelope with the envelope punch board!!!
Napkin Card Instructions:
1. Cut your card's top layer. Cut the same size of a piece of Sizzix Multipurpose Adhesive sheets. Peel off one of the layers of the adhesive sheet and adhere the card layer to this.
2 . Take the napkin and GENTLY pull the 2 layers apart. Cut around the area of the napkin you intend to use on your card.
3. Peel the last adhesive cover off.
4. Place the napkin on this and smooth out all wrinkles.
5. Take VersaMark and press all over the napkin.
6. Sprinkle Heat and Stick Powder all over this, covering completely. Shake off excess.
7. Emboss with heat gun.
8. Sprinkle Irridescent Ice all over this portion. Shake off excess.
9. Emboss with heat gun.
10. Apply this card layer on your card.
I hope you give this a try. I have found this is a great technique for creating favorite team sports cards for your sports enthusiast who has everything.
