Welcome to Flashback Friday#1 using the retired set So Very Grateful.
I just LOVED this set when I saw it in the catalog. I didn't use it much being overwhelmed as a new demo. For today, I made 3 cards with this stamp set. The first card the pictures do not do it justice. It really is a simple but elegant card. I used vellum for the card and shimmery cardstock for the inside. I also placed a piece of cardstock on the back of the vellum card to cover up the adhesive from adhering the cardstock to the vellum. The card inside is cut smaller at 3-1/2" x 8" and then fold in half. I also adhered this to the vellum with tear and tape.
I heat embossed the outside with gold embossing powder.
The inside:
I stamped the image with Memento Black ink and colored from the stamp pads with a blender pen using Rose Red, Garden Green, and Island Indigo.
Card #2:
I used the split negative technique on this. I embossed Cajun Craze on Sahara Sand and vice versa, then I put clear embossing powder and embossed with the heat gun. What I like the most is the die cut frame. I popped this up on dimensionals. The funny thing is--do you want to know where my inspiration came from? I was driving by our insurance agency. They had just painted their building and it is in a downtown antique building. My first thought---wow I like those colors-Sahara Sand and Cajun Craze. I know, I'm weird. I look at the world in Stampin' Up! colors!!! LOL
Card #3:
Of course I did stamp the stamp on the corner on the inside!!! I just didn't take a pic. Also, did you know you can color Stampin' Up! rhinestones or pearls with any Sharpie marker? That's what I did here. I colored the rhinestones on the doily with a gold Sharpie.
Here are all three cards:
