Baseball Cap Treat Holder

Hi Stampers,

Welcome back to today's edition of Grads & Dads Week.  You can't think of summer without take me out to the ball game. I know, now you will have that song playing in your head. LOL Today, we have an alternative to yesterday's post. If your spouse, Dad, significant other is a baseball fan, then this is for them. A baseball cap treat holder. I scoured the internet for ideas. Most of the templates that are offered are for the baseball cap only and are quite small. I did find a few like this but they were smaller and for a fee. I took one look at the Window Box Thinlits and came up with my own size pattern. I hope you will give this a try.

Seeing how I live in Michigan, I had to make a Detroit Tigers colored cap. I hope you give this a try!!!

Welcome to Grads & Dads!!!

Gradsdads

Hi Stampers,

Welcome to Grads & Dads week here on my blog. The first item is a card but not a card--more like a 3D project.

DSCN0049

The little graduation hats are made with Stampin' Up!Window Box Thinlits. You cut out two of the Window Box Thinlits. You put together just like the directions, cutting off each score "end" on only one of the diecuts as directed. You will also need to cut off the 3 tabs for the top of the box (the ones with X's)

DSCN0051

You then cut 2 pieces of cardstock, in this case Pacific Point. Cut one 4-1/4" x 4"1/4" and one 3-3/4" x 3-3/4".

Glue the bigger piece on top of the top of the Window Box Thinlits diecut. You will need to score the other piece. Lining the point at 1-3/4" score (as in the picture). On the opposite side, line the point at 1-1/4" and score (not pictured).

Fold back the larger scored corner and glue down. Place tear and tape where shown.

DSCN0034

Line up with the Window Box Thinlits diecut and adhere down. Die cut one "congrats" from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Adhere across the "pocket" inside.

Wind twine around to make tassle. Adhere on top with a  Metal Rimmed Pearl. Place money in "pocket."

I looked for graduation mints to put in  but couldn't find any so I improvised with IceBreaker Mints. I hope you will give this a try!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a cute little 3D for Father's Day. Hope to see you!!!

Sunshine Wishes Leftovers

Hi Stampers,

The other day, I showed you a card that I used one of the new hostess sets-In The City and Sunshine Wishes framelits. When I was cleaning up, I came across the diecut I used for the love sentiment. I thought, well I'll keep that and use it on something. Well, bingo--today's the day!! It worked PERFECT for the new Color Theory DSP. It lined up so good. I also got to use the new glitter enamel dots. I just LOVE them. Voila, card was done. Easy, peasy.

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #234-In the City

#234

Hi Stampers,

This week's challenge is a product spotlight showcasing the new In Colors!!! I chose to use Berry Burst. I needed a baby card and I really like the deep pink color. I think this is my new fav. I also used the new Hostess Set In the City. You definitely get more bang for your buck with this set. You get----60 photopolymer stamps with this set!!!! There are so many possibilities with this set. I knew I wanted to use the new Color Theory DSP.  One of the selections looks like paint chip samples. I saw a card from Debbie Henderson using the Color Theory DSP HERE. I loved the layout of her card---I believe she called it a Z fold. I just swapped out the colors. Love this paper stack!!! I also used the new Glitter Enamel Dots.

DOStamper Stars Card Swap-In The City

Hi Stampers,

In most Stampin' Up! groups, there is always swapping going on. What is a swap? A theme, color or stamp set is chosen for the group. You then create and make however many are in the group identical cards. In this instance, 13. You then send all your cards to the hostess of the swap who "swaps" them out and mails them back to you. When you receive them, you will have received 13 different cards; one from each swapper. Make sense?

What is great about participating in a swap, you get many cards of stamp sets you don't have to own so you can display them. Let's face it---you can't possibly afford to own all of the sets in the catalog!! I would love to but my wallet says NO. LOL

This is one I just participated in with the DOStamper Stars group. I used the hostess set In The City. This is such a versatile set with so many stamps!!! I needed a wedding card and hence, this is what I came up with.

I just love the little limo stamp!!!

Here's all of them before I mailed to the hostess

Cool Treats

Hi Stampers,

This card went great with yesterday's weather here in Michigan. It was sunny and almost 90!!! Yikes!!! Too hot for me to be outside. At those temps, I either have to be in a pool or by a lake. Or in yesterday's case----in air conditioning!!!

The Cool Treats bundle is so cute. I am so happy that this set was carried over to the new annual catalog. I have seen so many fantastic cards made with this set. With summer here, I will be reaching for this set a lot!!!

You can now order this set now!!! The new catalog is LIVE!!! If you need a catalog please shoot me an email and I will get one to you!!!

Father Tom

Hi Stampers,

This year on April 22, my older brother Thomas was ordained as a priest. We are very proud of him and his love for God. Because we couldn't make it, of course I had to make him a card. Well, what do you make a priest? Looking through Pinterest was really of no help until I saw this shirt card. I just added the white collar. I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp  set Trust God and stamped God Bless You on the inside.

I hope I was able to inspire you in some way. This card format would be great for upcoming Father's Day.
