Reel Fun with Balloon Framelit

Hi Stampers,

I have had this card in my head for about a week. I should have made it last week for Grads & Dads week but just ran out of time. My husband, along with his love of beer, also LOVES to fish!! This is a perfect summer activity and today is the first day of summer!!!!

DSCN0089

I made the bobber out of the retired balloon framelit. I cut a slit in the paper to place the bobber in. I also used "reel" fishing line too!!! LOL The sun is from the retired set Kinda Eclectic.

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #235-Mixed Drinks

#235

Hi Stampers,

Back for a sketch pad challenge for the DOStamper Stars group. In keeping with today's theme, I made a Father's Day card for my hubby. He has worked so hard for this award card. He practices and practices to hone his skills and I am finally praising and recognizing him for his talent. I know he will appreciate this card and probably even get a little teary eyed when he sees it.

DSCN0064

DSCN0065

I used Wink of Stella on the "suds" but it doesn't really show up.

I used the new Color Theory DSP and mini chevron ribbon along with the glitter enamel dots. The sentiment is part World's Best Trophy and Labeler Alphabet stamp sets. The World's Best Trophy stamp set you get 53 stamps!!! Well worth it's weight in gold IMO!!!

REMEMBER: You can order everything to make this card in my online store

Father's Day Six Pack

Gradsdads

Hi Stampers,

Today for my Grads & Dads blog post, I made a cute Father's Day six pack. That's right, my hubby's favorite---a six pack of beer!!! This card originated from the card I posted for Easter below.

DSCN0260

Instead, I used the cute jar framelit and silver foil sheets to cut out the beer cans. TIP: When cutting out die cuts with the gold or silver foil I place a sheet of copy paper over it then place the cutting plate on top. Any marks you have on your cutting plate will not show through on the gold or silver foil paper.

I also used the Foil Frenzy Speciality DSP again along with the new mini gift bows. BTW, I think these are SO ADORABLE!!! They are definitely one of my favorite new embellishments.

DSCN0077

This card does fold flat and fits in a regular A2 envelope. However, with the gift bows I would probably hand deliver so they do not get ruined in the mail.

DSCN0078

I used the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I also have a template for you to download for the measurements along with tutorial for the Easter Basket Card/Six Pack.

I hope you give this a try!!

Baseball Cap Treat Holder

Gradsdads

DSCN0060

Hi Stampers,

Welcome back to today's edition of Grads & Dads Week.  You can't think of summer without take me out to the ball game. I know, now you will have that song playing in your head. LOL Today, we have an alternative to yesterday's post. If your spouse, Dad, significant other is a baseball fan, then this is for them. A baseball cap treat holder. I scoured the internet for ideas. Most of the templates that are offered are for the baseball cap only and are quite small. I did find a few like this but they were smaller and for a fee. I took one look at the Window Box Thinlits and came up with my own size pattern. I hope you will give this a try.

Seeing how I live in Michigan, I had to make a Detroit Tigers colored cap. I hope you give this a try!!!

You Light Up My Life

Hi Stampers,

I just love the embellishments that are in the Urban Underground Suite. I used to have brads like these when these were "in".  Perusing Pinterest I saw cards made like outlets and I thought I would give it a try PLUS I got to use one of the embellishments. I used the sentiment from the hostess set Pun Intended.

Happy 17th Birthday Connor!!!

Hi Stampers,

Babyconnor

Our oldest grandson, Connor, turned 17 a little over a week ago and we celebrated this past weekend. As with boys his age, what is one of the things they like best? If you said video games, you got it right. I googled a game controller and printed out an outline. I also traced inside for the liner. I even uploaded one for you!!!

Download Game-controller

For the controls I used the 1-1/4" circle and 1" circle punches. For the tiny ones, I used the balloon, star and 1/4" circle punches. I also used the classic  label punch when the card was folded to cut out the "center". I just placed the punch a smidgeon down. I hope this makes sense.

I know it isn't perfect but it is handmade and very heartfelt as this is his favorite thing to do. I hope you will give it a try.

Seaside Shore Swim Trunks

Still in my summer mode at least for another couple of days. Today, I have a fun card. It would work great for a  masculine summer birthday or boy card. When I bought Seaside Shore I was thinking of summer--not so much masculine. I couldn't ask for a more fitting sentiment than this!!!

In The Meadow Binoculars

While I had my stamp set In The Meadow out for yesterday's card I decided to make another masculine card. I can never have too many of these. I thought it would be cute to make it look like you were looking through binoculars. I did stamp the deer on a post it note to make a mask. After stamping the deer on my card, I placed the mask over it to stamp the mountains. I also got to use some of my Chevron ribbon stash.

DSCN1729

DSCN1730

Can't forget to stamp the inside!!!

DSCN1731

I am really trying to get in the habit of stamping the inside of the card and the envelope to match. It makes it look so professional and complete IMO.

Ink: Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Memento Black

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Soft Sky

Accessories: Envelope punch board (to round corners), paper trimmer, Duet Banner punch, 2-1/2 inch circle punch, circle framelits, window sheet, SNAIL, dimensionals, Fast Fuse, Metal rimmed pearls, black chevron ribbon (retired)
