Father Tom

Hi Stampers,

This year on April 22, my older brother Thomas was ordained as a priest. We are very proud of him and his love for God. Because we couldn't make it, of course I had to make him a card. Well, what do you make a priest? Looking through Pinterest was really of no help until I saw this shirt card. I just added the white collar. I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp  set Trust God and stamped God Bless You on the inside.

I hope I was able to inspire you in some way. This card format would be great for upcoming Father's Day.

Thank you for visiting my blog!!

Track Stars

Hi Stampers,

Our two oldest grandchildren are in track and field. Last week at one of their meets, Connor (our oldest grandson) had a best personal record of 37 foot, 2 inches in the shotput!!! Of course, I had to make cards to send them. It looks a little juvenile but I really had to rack my brain for this one. The snowball from the retired stamp set Snow Much Fun was perfect for a shotput. I made a spinner card to look like he was throwing it.

Here he is in real life:

Our other grandson, Logan, is a runner. I swear he has the longest legs. He is only in 8th grade and is already 6'3"!!!! I didn't have any stamps to use on his card so I got out some old Sizzix dies I had, Stampin' Up! framelits and went with it.

Grandchildren are the best!!! My family is my world!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Stampers,

I hope everyone was able to celebrate a gorgeous and wonderful Mother's Day with their families. I know I did. Our middle daughter, Courtney, had us over for brunch and hubby cooked us omelets. It was in the mid-70's today and gorgeous!! Not bad for Michigan!!! Afterwards we went outside and made stepping stones. That was so much fun!!!

Here I am helping our youngest grandson Barrett aka Bear make his:

Meandbear

Here he is after it was finished:

Bearmd

He is such a cutie patootie and we love him so much!!!

I even got to come home and stamp a little. All in all, a PERFECT MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Thank you for stopping by!!

Happy 17th Birthday Connor!!!

Hi Stampers,

Babyconnor

Our oldest grandson, Connor, turned 17 a little over a week ago and we celebrated this past weekend. As with boys his age, what is one of the things they like best? If you said video games, you got it right. I googled a game controller and printed out an outline. I also traced inside for the liner. I even uploaded one for you!!!

Download Game-controller

For the controls I used the 1-1/4" circle and 1" circle punches. For the tiny ones, I used the balloon, star and 1/4" circle punches. I also used the classic  label punch when the card was folded to cut out the "center". I just placed the punch a smidgeon down. I hope this makes sense.

I know it isn't perfect but it is handmade and very heartfelt as this is his favorite thing to do. I hope you will give it a try.

Bag A Lope Halloween Bags

I thought these were cute to make for the grandchildren to hold their Halloween treats. They are called Bag A Lope or Box in a Bag. They are called many things but so easy to make!! I also got to use up some retired Halloween DSP and some retired In Color clothespins to attach their glow in the dark hand pens to the outside.

I just filled them with their favorite XL candy bar, pack of gum, tootsie rolls and laffy taffy. They get so much candy trick or treating!!!

Here are our youngest two grandchildren, Isabella (Bella) and Barrett (Bear). They wanted to get their picture taken on Grandpa's vintage truck.

Harlow's Baptism-All God's Grace

Harlow2

My great niece Harlow was baptized a couple of weeks ago and I forgot to post the card I sent. They live in Kansas and my nephew (Harlow's Dad) is stationed in the Army (he's holding her). He was in Kuwait since she was a week old. We are so glad he is home and gets to be with his family again.

When I was making this card, I didn't intend to use so many retired items but sometimes you have to use up what you have.

Play Ball!!!!

My older brother Doug who turned 67 this year is a HUGE baseball fan. So, of course, I had to make him a baseball themed card. I used the retired set Take Me Out To The Ballgame. I have several sports stamp sets that are old, retired sets from Stampin' Up! that I will never part with and this is one of them. So many boys/men in our family that are huge sports enthusiasts.

I also used a piece of tan fun foam. You heat this up with your heat gun and when it is very pliable (you will be able to tell) you ink your stamp and stamp on it. It gives the appearance of leather or at least I think so. I then sponged the edges to distress it. I thought it gave a vintage feel to this card. I used fast fuse to adhere this because it needs the extra strength to stay adhered. I also used the retired chevron punch for the stitches. You can also use a square punch to make these.

Holy Batman Birthday Barrett!!!!

Our youngest grandson Barrett, aka Bear, turned 3 at the end of May. He is a huge Batman fan so naturally Grandma just had to make him his own cape.

     Bear4

We were out of town for his party so I had to let him open his present at his cousin Natalie's 6th grade graduation.

Here is a better pic of his card:

I just measured the cardstock and opening of the matchbox card and glued it on. Then placed this on top of a regular A2 base card.

Well, needless to say, he loved it and actually fell asleep with the cape at his naptime. Bless his heart. This lil man has brought so much joy to our family. We just love him to pieces.
