The Fighting Irish

Hi Stampers,

My nephew Christopher's birthday is today. He and his wife, Heather, have 3 of the prettiest little girls and are currently stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I think he is the biggest Notre Dame fan there is so I had to find a way to get this on a card. Well, I found these beverage napkins on Amazon and I made a napkin card. I still had the Sizzix adhesive sheets, heat and stick powder and the Irisidecent Powder in my stash. Imagine that?!!! My card is a 5 x 5 so I could make more out of the napkin. I used our Gold Foil cardstock as a layer to give more stability to the card. I also had retired In Color Envelope Paper in my stash to make a Cucumber Crush envelope with the envelope punch board!!!

Napkin Card Instructions:

 1.  Cut your card's top layer. Cut the same size of a piece of Sizzix Multipurpose Adhesive sheets. Peel off one of the layers of the adhesive sheet and adhere the card layer to this.

2 . Take the napkin and GENTLY pull the 2 layers apart. Cut around the area of the napkin you intend to use on your card.

3. Peel the last adhesive cover off.

4. Place the napkin on this and smooth out all wrinkles.

5. Take VersaMark and press all over the napkin.

6. Sprinkle Heat and Stick Powder all over this, covering completely. Shake off excess.

7.  Emboss with heat gun.

8. Sprinkle Irridescent Ice all over this portion. Shake off excess.

9. Emboss with heat gun.

10. Apply this card layer on your card.

I hope you give this a try. I have found this is a great technique for creating favorite team sports cards for your sports enthusiast who has everything.

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #267-Birthday Wit

Well, welcome back to me!!! I didn't post at all the whole month of January!!! Unfortunately, time does not stand still. I needed a rest to just breathe after the holidays. So lets fast forward to this week's DOStamper Stars challenge---sketch pad #267.

This sketch is great, it came together very fast for me as I needed a card for our eldest grandson's birthday. He is turning 18!!!! I'm just completely speechless. I thought our children grew up fast. Add the grandchildren and POUF!!!! Connor has turned into an amazing, loving, kindhearted young man and we couldn't be any prouder. He is on the wrestling team and loves it. So, yes, I did cheat because I used my Cricut. Does it count though I used the medal from the World's Best Trophy set and the sentiment from the Birthday Wit stamp set?

The Pacific Point ribbon trim is perfect for this card!!!

Happy 15th Birthday Logan!!!

Hi Stampers,

Recently we just celebrated our grandson Logan's 15th birthday. He is so sports oriented and HIGHLY competitive. It was only fitting to make him a basketball shoe card for his birthday. We are so proud of him---he is only a freshman and he and his best friend made the Varsity team!!!! WOOHOO!!! I think it helps that he not only loves the game but is also 6'4"!!! LOL He is #40!!!

I used the World's Best Trophy on the circle and Labeler Alphabet stamp set.

Candy Corn Treat Holder

Hi Stampers,

Isn't this just the cutest little candy corn treat holder? I just love his face!!!

I thought I would make these for my grandchildren. They all love the candy corn mixed with peanuts. It tastes just like you are eating a Payday candy bar. Even the older two-Connor and Logan, like it. Speaking of which, we met them to take pictures for Homecoming. When did they become a freshman and junior and 6'3" and 6'4" respectively?!!!!

I even typed up a pdf for you which there are 2 parts.

World's Best Trophy

Hi Stampers,

Does someone ever just touch your heart and make you so grateful that they are part of your life? Well, that's how I feel all the time about my children but I think sometimes they need to be reminded of how much they really are loved even if they are adults. Don't you?

Our son, Cody, is no exception and I just felt he needed to know how much he means to us. He always surprises me with the depth of his heart.

I used the World's Best Trophy and the best part---it comes with 53 photopolymer stamps!!! WOWZA!!! This set is great for making ANYTHING family.

The Color Theory DSP is so versatile. I love the paper that looks like paint chips, weathered wood and color splatters.

Remember, you too, can make this card with supplies ordered from my website.

Just Married Car

Hi Stampers,

My niece, Alyssa, just recently got married and I thought it would be fun to make a car shaped card for the occasion. She looked so beautiful on her day.

To make this card, you need to cut approx. 1-1/2" off the top piece of a  4 x 11 piece of cardstock. I used the corner rounder from the envelope punch board on a lot of the pieces.

Thank you for visiting!!

Father Tom

Hi Stampers,

This year on April 22, my older brother Thomas was ordained as a priest. We are very proud of him and his love for God. Because we couldn't make it, of course I had to make him a card. Well, what do you make a priest? Looking through Pinterest was really of no help until I saw this shirt card. I just added the white collar. I used a retired Stampin' Up! stamp  set Trust God and stamped God Bless You on the inside.

I hope I was able to inspire you in some way. This card format would be great for upcoming Father's Day.

Thank you for visiting my blog!!

Track Stars

Hi Stampers,

Our two oldest grandchildren are in track and field. Last week at one of their meets, Connor (our oldest grandson) had a best personal record of 37 foot, 2 inches in the shotput!!! Of course, I had to make cards to send them. It looks a little juvenile but I really had to rack my brain for this one. The snowball from the retired stamp set Snow Much Fun was perfect for a shotput. I made a spinner card to look like he was throwing it.

Here he is in real life:

Our other grandson, Logan, is a runner. I swear he has the longest legs. He is only in 8th grade and is already 6'3"!!!! I didn't have any stamps to use on his card so I got out some old Sizzix dies I had, Stampin' Up! framelits and went with it.

Inside of both cards:

Here he is in real life:

Grandchildren are the best!!! My family is my world!!!

Thanks for visiting my blog!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi Stampers,

I hope everyone was able to celebrate a gorgeous and wonderful Mother's Day with their families. I know I did. Our middle daughter, Courtney, had us over for brunch and hubby cooked us omelets. It was in the mid-70's today and gorgeous!! Not bad for Michigan!!! Afterwards we went outside and made stepping stones. That was so much fun!!!

Here I am helping our youngest grandson Barrett aka Bear make his:

Here he is after it was finished:

He is such a cutie patootie and we love him so much!!!

I even got to come home and stamp a little. All in all, a PERFECT MOTHER'S DAY!!!

Thank you for stopping by!!

Happy 17th Birthday Connor!!!

Hi Stampers,

Our oldest grandson, Connor, turned 17 a little over a week ago and we celebrated this past weekend. As with boys his age, what is one of the things they like best? If you said video games, you got it right. I googled a game controller and printed out an outline. I also traced inside for the liner. I even uploaded one for you!!!

Download Game-controller

For the controls I used the 1-1/4" circle and 1" circle punches. For the tiny ones, I used the balloon, star and 1/4" circle punches. I also used the classic  label punch when the card was folded to cut out the "center". I just placed the punch a smidgeon down. I hope this makes sense.

I know it isn't perfect but it is handmade and very heartfelt as this is his favorite thing to do. I hope you will give it a try.
