DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #237-Window Box Thinlits Lantern

#237

Hi Stampers,

I really like the patriotic colors in the above photo. In staying with the theme, I chose to make a paper lantern out of the window box thinlits. The first one I made I also cut Whisper White pieces to go on the lantern and it made it a little heavy. It would be great to be hung up but not sitting on a table.

This is the second one and I only made one window box "frame" for the bottom. I also didn't attach a second layer of cardstock. You could attach string to the top to hang it or just use as a table decoration.

These are the cute little battery operated tealights I found at Dollar Tree.

Hi Stampers,

DSCN0089

I made the bobber out of the retired balloon framelit. I cut a slit in the paper to place the bobber in. I also used "reel" fishing line too!!! LOL The sun is from the retired set Kinda Eclectic.

OUCH!!!

Hi Stampers,

One of my co-workers had to undergo an emergency tonsillectomy. I had to make a card for our department to sign. We are quite a large department with  55+ employees. My card might look kind of juvenile but I think it is cute and appropriate. I used the retired Party Pack punch (balloon) for her tonsils and the bell punch for her neck.

DSCN0107

I used 12 x 12 paper and cut it down to 5-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4". I glued the two pieces together to make it bigger.

DOStamper Stars Thursday Challenge #235-Mixed Drinks

#235

Hi Stampers,

Back for a sketch pad challenge for the DOStamper Stars group. In keeping with today's theme, I made a Father's Day card for my hubby. He has worked so hard for this award card. He practices and practices to hone his skills and I am finally praising and recognizing him for his talent. I know he will appreciate this card and probably even get a little teary eyed when he sees it.

DSCN0064

DSCN0065

I used Wink of Stella on the "suds" but it doesn't really show up.

I used the new Color Theory DSP and mini chevron ribbon along with the glitter enamel dots. The sentiment is part World's Best Trophy and Labeler Alphabet stamp sets. The World's Best Trophy stamp set you get 53 stamps!!! Well worth it's weight in gold IMO!!!

Father's Day Six Pack

Gradsdads

Hi Stampers,

Today for my Grads & Dads blog post, I made a cute Father's Day six pack. That's right, my hubby's favorite---a six pack of beer!!! This card originated from the card I posted for Easter below.

DSCN0260

Instead, I used the cute jar framelit and silver foil sheets to cut out the beer cans. TIP: When cutting out die cuts with the gold or silver foil I place a sheet of copy paper over it then place the cutting plate on top. Any marks you have on your cutting plate will not show through on the gold or silver foil paper.

I also used the Foil Frenzy Speciality DSP again along with the new mini gift bows. BTW, I think these are SO ADORABLE!!! They are definitely one of my favorite new embellishments.

DSCN0077

This card does fold flat and fits in a regular A2 envelope. However, with the gift bows I would probably hand deliver so they do not get ruined in the mail.

DSCN0078

I used the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

I also have a template for you to download for the measurements along with tutorial for the Easter Basket Card/Six Pack.

I hope you give this a try!!

Graduation Twist Card

Gradsdads

Hi Stampers,

Welcome back to Grads & Dads week. Today, I have a graduation card. I have been meaning to try this technique for so long and just thought I don't have the time. Actually, it is not time consuming at all but VERY ADDICTING!!! My head is spinning with all the ideas for cards using this technique. I am sure there are tons of names for it but I am calling it a Twist Card.

DSCN0081

I used the new gorgeous foil frenzy speciality DSP from the new catalog. This paper is great for 3D projects--nice and thick!!! I also used the sentiment from Happy Celebrations. Open the card and this is what you see-the banner twists and opens to this:

DSCN0082

Before I get a bunch of emails telling me I have lost my mind I think I better explain. LOL This is the first year in a very long time we have no openhouses!!! BUT-I know of at least 2 for next year so I used 2018. I cannot believe I already have a card made a year in advance!!! THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!!LOL

I hope you give this technique a try!! They are so fun to make!!

Baseball Cap Treat Holder

Gradsdads

DSCN0060

Hi Stampers,

Welcome back to today's edition of Grads & Dads Week.  You can't think of summer without take me out to the ball game. I know, now you will have that song playing in your head. LOL Today, we have an alternative to yesterday's post. If your spouse, Dad, significant other is a baseball fan, then this is for them. A baseball cap treat holder. I scoured the internet for ideas. Most of the templates that are offered are for the baseball cap only and are quite small. I did find a few like this but they were smaller and for a fee. I took one look at the Window Box Thinlits and came up with my own size pattern. I hope you will give this a try.

Seeing how I live in Michigan, I had to make a Detroit Tigers colored cap. I hope you give this a try!!!

Welcome to Grads & Dads!!!

Gradsdads

Hi Stampers,

Welcome to Grads & Dads week here on my blog. The first item is a card but not a card--more like a 3D project.

DSCN0049

The little graduation hats are made with Stampin' Up!Window Box Thinlits. You cut out two of the Window Box Thinlits. You put together just like the directions, cutting off each score "end" on only one of the diecuts as directed. You will also need to cut off the 3 tabs for the top of the box (the ones with X's)

DSCN0051

You then cut 2 pieces of cardstock, in this case Pacific Point. Cut one 4-1/4" x 4"1/4" and one 3-3/4" x 3-3/4".

Glue the bigger piece on top of the top of the Window Box Thinlits diecut. You will need to score the other piece. Lining the point at 1-3/4" score (as in the picture). On the opposite side, line the point at 1-1/4" and score (not pictured).

DSCN0018

DSCN0033

Fold back the larger scored corner and glue down. Place tear and tape where shown.

DSCN0034

Line up with the Window Box Thinlits diecut and adhere down. Die cut one "congrats" from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. Adhere across the "pocket" inside.

DSCN0041

DSCN0043

DSCN0047

DSCN0048

Wind twine around to make tassle. Adhere on top with a  Metal Rimmed Pearl. Place money in "pocket."

I looked for graduation mints to put in  but couldn't find any so I improvised with IceBreaker Mints. I hope you will give this a try!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a cute little 3D for Father's Day. Hope to see you!!!
